We love and welcome pets at Silver Gate Lodging! There is a 2 pet maximum. The pets must be crated whenever left alone in the cabin and are not permitted on the beds or other furniture. Pets must be leashed on the grounds as we often have bison and other wild animals roaming around. Please be considerate of the other guests and scoop your pet's poop.

Upon booking, a deposit equaling a one night's stay will be charged on all reservations with your outstanding balance being charged on the morning of your arrival. Cancelling from 29 days to 16 days before arrival will be charged the entire deposit of one night’s stay. Cancelling inside of 15 days and no shows will forfeit the entire charge for the complete reservation. Cancelling of multiple cabin rentals and long term stays will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Our internet service is provided by a satellite dish (yes we know it's not the 90's). We have  limited data so the internet can only be used for checking email and the weather. Satellite internet service can be interrupted by the weather. When it is working, our guests staying at Silver Gate Lodge are welcome to use it from the porch of the General Store. The internet service does not work from or reach the individual cabins. Please note we do not guarantee internet access to our guests. The Cooke City Chamber of Commerce does offer free internet to visitors, it is located only three miles from the cabins. Ultimately we hope you can disconnect and enjoy nature.

No TV's in any of our cabins or rooms. It's a good thing 🙂

There is no cell phone service in Silver Gate or Cooke City. Limited cellular telephone service is available in Yellowstone; at Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, Canyon, Grant and Mammoth Hot Springs villages. Verizon provides the best coverage, though AT&T is best at Canyon Village. The closest cell phone service, outside the park, is Gardiner MT, Cody WY, or Red Lodge MT.

None of our cabins have A/C, but most of them have fans. Where we are located, even in the summer, A/C isn't normally necessary...if you want a little extra breeze you just open a window! All of our cabins have propane heat for those occasional chilly nights.

All towels and linens are provided in the cabins. Dishware, utensils, and cookware are also provided. All of our cabins have bathrooms (with stand up showers, no bathtubs), and all but two cabins have kitchenettes. The kitchens have refrigerator/freezer, stove and oven, toaster, and coffee maker. There are no microwaves. All of our cabins also have fire-pits and charcoal grills.

The Soda Butte Lodge and The Alpine Motel, located 3 miles up the road, both have coin operated machines that are available to the public.

There are no hair dryers in the cabins. However, we do have them and all you have to is request one at the front desk!

If you arrive after 9 pm, there will be an envelope with your name on it on the front door of the Silver Gate General Store. Inside the envelope will be your receipt, a key, and a map to your cabin.

You can buy a pass to Yellowstone at any entrance. Yellowstone never closes. If you enter the park when the gate is closed you will pay for a pass when you exit. We do not recommend driving in the park after dark. If you do have to drive in the park, drive slow and look out for animals.
